The exceptional qualities of borage oil ( borago officinalis ) lie mainly in its richness in gamma-linolenic acid (GLA: 20 to 24%), an essential fatty acid which is a precursor of the prostaglandins. Melvita borage oil is extracted by cold pressing of selected seeds.
